Hot Wheels ’73 Holden Monaro GTS / ’77 Holden Torana A9X

– Holden is an Australian car manufacturer that existed from 1856 to 2021.
– This time we have a lineup of two muscle cars representing Holden.
– Monaro GTS is a high-performance version of Holden’s upper middle car, Monaro.
– The first-generation Monaro was released in 1968, and had a body size similar to that of Japanese luxury cars.In addition to the in-house straight-six engine, the lineup also included a Chevrolet V8 supplied by parent company GM.
– Hot Wheels’ motif is the second-generation Monaro GTS, which has a larger body and is equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 that is also installed in the Camaro and Corvette in the United States.
– The Torana A9X, on the other hand, is Holden’s subcompact car and is equipped with a GM-made 5-liter V8 engine in a body that fits within Japan’s 5-number frame.
– The Torana was produced over three generations from 1967 to 1979, but the A9X modeled after Hot Wheels is a limited production car of 100 units set for the third generation Torana that was introduced in 1974, with a model on the engine hood. It features a huge scoop, screw-fastened over fenders, and large front and rear spoilers.
– A race car based on the same car won back-to-back titles in the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1978 and 1979.
